Laminated Wooden Texture – Photoshop Tutorial

In this tutorial you will find out how to very easily create a laminate (or wood texture). It’s a very easy and impressive way and the result is just fantastic! So, make a cup of coffee and do it!

Ok, create a new image 400×300 with 72 dpi resolution. Choose Filter > Noise > Add Noise and make preferences as in the images below.

Ok, now Filter > Blur > Motion Blur.

Well, all the same – Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.

Yes! Now make a “relief” – Filter > Sketch > Chrome and “play” with preferences. I used 5 and 5 px, but you can use other numbers.

And the final! Tone the image to the color of dark wood. Press Ctrl+D for that and make all like in the image. (Note: you can use your own preferences to change lighting, color and other settings – play!).

Ok, the result is something like this:

Very nice and easy, isn’t it? By the way, next you can use Filter > Liquify tools to twirl or warp the image.
